Novel Targeted Therapeutics for Multiple Myeloma and Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia: These hematological malignancies are the initial development targets for our TIPT technology. Our principal investigator has significant experience with TIPT for multiple myeloma and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Current treatments for both of these cancers are inadequate. They represent a significant commercial opportunity with potential revenues well in excess of $1B annually. There are more than 100,000 patients with multiple myeloma and chronic lymphocytic leukemia in the US.
Novel MIP for Removal of Phosphate from GI Tract of Patients with End Stage Renal Disease: Our molecular imprinting technology for selective recognition of compounds is an ideal approach for the superior removal of phosphates from the GI tract. Patients with end-stage renal disease rely on dialysis and oral phosphate binders to maintain optimal phosphate levels and prevent hyperphosphatemia. Currently available phosphate binders are not selective and require large daily dosages for effective control of phosphate levels. We are developing a novel MIP with improved selectivity and enhanced capacity as a superior alternative for this patient population. The number of patients with end-stage renal disease in the US is estimated to be about 350,000, and is projected to grow to 2.2 million by 2030.
Additional Cancer Therapeutics: We plan to leverage the full power of our platform TIPT technology towards the development of novel targeted therapeutics for major cancers such as lung, bladder, pancreas, liver, ovarian, colon, breast, and prostate.
